2022 Camp Grant Recipient: Andrew Ossola

Columbine Wrestling attended eight days of camp in Gunnison, half focusing on technique and the next heavily competition-based. Lots of mat time for the Rebels!

We're back to our business of helping wrestlers improve their skills by awarding camp grants! This year, we've continued with providing $250 to each of the Colorado high schools where Coach Barron led teams: Fort Lupton, Heritage, and Columbine.

Next up in our grant recipients: Andrew Ossola, Columbine High School. Here’s what his coaches had to say about Andrew.

“We chose Andrew Ossola because he is one of the hardest workers in our wrestling room. He is an incredible leader and chooses to lead by his own example. He is a dedicated athlete that competes in multiple sports to include football and wrestling. Wrestling is a newer sport to Andrew, and he has made significant improvements in the short time that he has been competing. He is passionate about being a competitor and strives to improve and learn as much as he can from every experience. During this spring and summer, Andrew competed in multiple freestyle tournaments, he did this on his own accord all while working and keeping up with football commitments and hitting the gym as much as possible. At camp, Andrew took first place in his bracket in the individual tournament at the end of the Technique/Competition camp.”

Congrats, Andrew! We hope you enjoyed the camp at Western State and wish you the best luck in this upcoming season!
