4.0 for Kobe Prior

Kobe Prior of Bayfield, Colorado, received the 2022 RBS&HF $10,000 scholarship and is attending the Colorado School of Mines.

We heard from 2022 RBS&HF $10,000 Scholarship recipient Kobe Prior about his first semester at the Colorado School of Mines. We couldn’t be prouder of the hard work he’s putting in up there in Golden, Colorado. Here’s what he had to say.

I am reaching out at the conclusion of my first semester here at Mines. Going into finals I had high A’s, over 100 percent in physics a 99 in math and in earth and environmental systems I was able to skip the final and end with an A because of the extra credit I completed throughout the semester. I anticipate scoring well and ending this semester with a 4.0. I have really enjoyed my time here, I’ve found a pretty good group of motivated people that I surround myself with and don’t forget to have some fun in the midst of learning. One experience that I have found to be very valuable has been my opportunity to do undergraduate research through the first year innovation and research scholar training (FIRST). I connected with Dr. Elsherbeni who specializes in RF. Trevor, a sophomore also studying Electrical Engineering, and myself were tasked with creating an antennas demonstration for his introduction for antennas course (EENG 425). I hope to continue researching under him next semester and hope to present at the undergraduate research symposium this spring. I would like to extend my thanks to the Ray Barron Strength and Honor Fund for providing financial assistance to my attending Mines; I will be forever grateful.
Sincerely,
Kobe Prior
